Our home-Education sessions are aimed at children aged 5 and above. We’re passionate about creating an inclusive, mixed-age environment where children of different backgrounds and learning stages come together. Learning naturally flows between them, and we see this shared experience as one of the greatest strengths of our sessions.

As an independent Forest School, we follow the Forest School ethos, drawing inspiration from a range of educational approaches including Montessori, Rousseau, Locke, and Reggio Emilia. Rather than a fixed curriculum, we offer flexible, child-led activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and holistic development at each child’s own pace.

Our woodland site is rich with opportunities for exploration and play, including:

  • A fully equipped mud kitchen

  • A large loose-parts play area

  • Swings and hammocks

  • Messy play and craft areas

  • A painting area

  • Den-building spaces

  • A weaving station

We’re continually evolving the space, and we’re delighted to now have a large wooden gazebo, providing a sheltered and versatile area for sessions in all seasons.

Sustainability sits at the heart of what we do. We use natural, eco-friendly materials wherever possible and aim to care for the woodland through reusing, recycling, and thoughtful environmental practices. Our goal is to offer a safe, joyful, and enriching outdoor space that supports health, wellbeing, and meaningful learning for home-Education families across Leicestershire.

Sessions now run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10am to 12pm, excluding school holidays.

Feel free to email us for a chat about the sessions or follow our socials to see what we’ve been getting up to in the woods 🌿

Outreach Learning

Our forest school team can offer outdoor learning through an outreach program, bringing nature-based activities into schools. These sessions allow students to explore nature, develop skills like problem-solving and teamwork and engage in activities like tree identification, bushcraft, and outdoor play. The program enhances students’ connection to the environment, supports well-being, and fosters creativity and resilience, without needing a dedicated Forest School site.
