About Us
Forest School is a hands-on approach to learning in nature, inspired by Scandinavian practices and now used across the UK. At our independent Forest School, we focus on holistic development, with benefits for health, language, physical skills and more.
Based at Ulverscroft Manor in Charnwood Forest, we are a site of special scientific interest and as such we’re surrounded by abundant wildlife and natural beauty.
Follow us on socials for the latest updates!
There’s free parking nearby, with toilets and baby-changing facilities available.

Helen
“Hi, I’m Helen! I have a degree in textiles and love all things crafty. I’m an adoptive parent to an energetic 7-year-old and have seen first hand how nature can help with behaviour. I run a local Guide group, love cooking on the fire and am always up for organising fun parties—especially at Christmas!”

Emma
“Hi, I’m Emma! I have two boys, aged 5 and 7. I’m a qualified Primary School Teacher with 9 years of experience in Early Years and Key Stage One. I’m passionate about supporting learning and helping others and I love learning new things too! I’m also trained in breastfeeding and baby carrying peer support, baby massage and baby yoga. I enjoy helping parents reach their goals.”

Abbey
“Hi. I’m Abbey. I’m mum to a teenage son and preteen daughter. I’ve been volunteering at forest schools since 2017. I’m also a Beaver Scout Team Member and I love being outdoors, especially practicing bushcraft, which helps me develop practical skills. Being outside benefits me greatly, it improves my well-being, gives me a sense of peace and allows me to support others in building confidence and resilience in nature. The children lead their learning and I am there to support them in this exploration and discovery.

Miles
“I’m a teacher and Forest School leader. I have experience of the Outdoors from many different areas. I’m an accomplished cyclist, keen wood carver specialising in spoons, a dad/stepdad of 4 boys, and a Scout leader of 3 years. I have a love for the outdoors and feel passionate about environmental change and how we can all take better care of our planet. If not outdoors, I will typically be found with a cup of tea, engrossed in one of my many books. I love to learn and share my knowledge to help educate and engage others. I also love a good dad joke!”
